Divisional Secretariat - Deraniyagala

Deraniyagala Divisional Coordinating Committee Meeting was held on March 29, 2022 at the Auditorium of the Divisional Secretariat under the patronage of the Hon. Chairman, Divisional Coordinating Committee, Minister Prof. Tissa Vitarana.

A symbolic program to distribute vegetable plants and seeds under the Green Day National Agricultural Garden Development Program 2022 and the provision of self-employment equipment to entrepreneurs was also held at this event.

The Hon. Deputy Chairman of the Divisional Coordinating Committee, former Member of the Provincial Council Mr. Ajith Shyaminda, Members of the Pradeshiya Sabha and other political representatives as well as the Divisional Secretary and other public officials were present on this occasion.

Assistant Divisional Secretary of Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat Mrs. P.C. Madushani de Silva assumes duties as the new Divisional Secretary of the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat on 14th March 2014 at the auspicious time of 10.41 with given priority to religious observances. Mrs. Madushani de Silva is the 15th Divisional Secretary of the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat.

Commemoration ceremonies and tree planting programs and invasive tree removal activities organized for the 74th Independence Day celebrations were held on 4th February 2022 at the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat Division at the domain level. On the same day, the first tree planting program of the Divisional Secretariat under the program of planting 75 saplings per day was also carried out in the "Panakura" and "Pandaha" divisions.

Ms. I.K.R.S. Bandara Menike who rendered a great service to the area of Deraniyagala was transferred to another place of work after over four years as the Divisional Secretary of Deraniyagala. A ceremony which was felicitated by the entire staff of the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat to add wishes to farewell Divisional Secretary held on 11th March 2022 at the auditorium of the Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat.

Commencement of selected projects at the Grama Niladhari Division level of Deraniyagala Divisional Secretariat under the "One Lakh Work from the Budget - Rural Development Program" on 03rd January 2022 at It was done at the auspicious time of 08.52.
